In December of 2008, I lost my hair stylist. I had spent my teenage years and part of my adulthood building a very beautiful relationship with one of the most stylish women I knew at that time. Not only did we have a great relationship she was one of the first people that really D-I-D my hair. In 2009, finding a hair stylist to partner with was not easy. Sure, I could have asked friends but with my full thick head of hair I wasn’t excited to start the search over.
Fast forward to today and not much has changed. As a stylist myself, I’m constantly getting tagged in these social media streets for referrals for various hair stylist requests. It’s like there’s some unwritten rule as stylists that you must know all the stylists in your town or city.
In my short career in the beauty business, I’ve gotten to meet and build genuine relationships with stylists from all over the world. My goal is to create a virtual community for future clients to build an authentic relationship with a professional stylist to partner with—all while using the worldwide web to help simplify it all!
Welcome to My Style-List! May genuine connections be made.
Why My Style-List?
Welcome to My Style-List (pronounced my stylist)—a location-based directory to help connect future clients to qualified professionals.
I am the founder of My Style-List, Aishia Strickland, a blogger turned professional stylist. I originally started blogging in 2009 to start a hair stylist directory.
Unfortunately, the problem with doing so at the time was hampered by the fact that I didn’t know a lick of code and I had absolutely no connection to the beauty community other than the 8+ hours I would spend in the salon.
